Tranter Partners with Habitat for Humanity

Wichita Falls, TX - June 25, 2013

Tranter is proud to announce it is partnering with Habitat for Humanity to build the first ever Tranter funded house.  The partnership coincides with Tranter’s new Community Involvement Committee and its commitment to employee involvement and service to the community.

Tranter will soon begin fundraising efforts to raise the $45,000 needed to be a whole house sponsor. A whole house sponsor is one that underwrites the entire cost of building a home for one of our partner families in the community.  Many different fundraising activities internally and externally are being planned to help achieve such a great goal.

Once the funds are raised, Tranter employees will be given the opportunity to volunteer to build the home in order to help the family realize the dream of home ownership.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, Christian housing ministry that believes every man, woman and child should have a decent, safe and affordable place to live.  In 1992, Habitat for Humanity of Wichita Falls was established and is guided by its mission to eliminate substandard housing from our community.  Since 1992, Habitat has placed over 100 families in new homes.  Homeowners are selected based on their need for housing, ability to repay a no-profit mortgage and willingness to partner with Habitat.  To date, Habitat for Humanity has positively impacted more than 350 men, women and children in our community, helping them break the cycle of poverty and restoring hope in their lives.
